Discover the beautiful mountain region of Monteverde with its beautiful township and national parks on this full day tour from Guanacaste. This action packed day includes a full 2.5 hour long Monteverde zipline canopy tour, with 15 cables and 18 platforms, through stunning valleys and pastures. This will be followed by a hanging bridges walking tour through the stunning cloud forest of Monteverde National Park. All of that and lunch served at midday. This is a perfect tour for those looking for both some fun and adventure as well as a change of scenery from the Guanacaste peninsula.

Your day starts with a pick up along the beaches and townships of Guanacaste as you make you way east to the stunning mountain village of Monteverde. This beautiful region lies approximately 4,600 ft (1,400 m) above sea level and its unique geography means that the national parks of this area perpetually covered in fogs and clouds. This allows for Monteverde to host some of the most beautiful and biodiverse rainforests in Costa Rica, all of which are teeming with flora and fauna! It’s also scenically spectacular with wide valleys and stunning mountain views.

Your day begins at one of the best adventure parks in the region to enjoy your zipline and hanging bridges tour. After being equipped with safety gear and given a brief orientation, you will start your 2.5 hour long zipline tour which features 15 cables and 18 platforms dotted through forests, valleys and hillsides. As an optional extra (own expense), you can have a ride down one of the longest and most exhilarating zipline cables in all of Costa Rica: a one kilometer (3280 feet) superman cable which stretches over a wide valley, propelling you 180 meters (590 feet) at times above the ground. Enjoy some of the most spectacular birds-eye views as you zip your way along the 2 mile course. There is also an optional Tarzan Swing which can be done at the end of your canopy tour. After a morning of exhilaration, you will be treated to a typical Costa Rican style lunch at the lodge.

With lunch complete, it will be time to start your 1.9 mile (3 kilometer) walk through the cloud forests. See for yourself the unique features of this forest which keeps much of the park blanketed in a cloud and mist. You will be guided to eight different hanging bridges all varying in lengths and altitudes, with the longest being 510 feet (170 meters) long and altitudes of 180 feet (60 meters) at its highest points. If conditions are just right, you might be able to see down to the valleys and canopies below, affording you with that perfect photo opportunity! Throughout your walk, your guide will make frequent stops to observe some of the local flora and fauna on display. This is also one of the best places in the country to view the beautiful resplendent quetzal and with any luck you may be able to spot one of these stunning birds with its incredible bright green plumage and long tail feathers.

With your hanging bridges tour complete, you will rejoin your coach and be transported back to your accommodation in Guanacaste where your tour will conclude.

This tour operates rain or shine but we do have the right to cancel this tour during heavy storms or if conditions are unsafe. You will be advised and offered either a refund or an alternative time or date.

Minimum age for this tour is 5 years of age. Children prices are between 5-10 years of age.

Tour is subject to minimum numbers of 2 adult passengers – if numbers are not met, then you will be put on stand by until we can confirm or arrange an alternative date of departure.

Cancellations must be made a full 48 hours prior to the tour embarking, otherwise a penalty of 100% will be applied. Likewise there will also be a 100% penalty for no shows.
