Explore the wilderness and dense jungles of Tortuguero on this wildlife tour with an expert naturalist guide! Start your activity with a meet in greet in Tortuguero Village where you will be guided to a trail known locally as Jaguar located in the Tortuguero Nattional Park. Be fully emersed in nature and thick jungle on this trail as your guide will direct you along the path while making frequent stops to view the abundance of native flora and fauna of this remarkable rainforest. On any given day, you maybe lucky enough to see sloths, monkeys, iguanas, frogs, toucans, green macaws, basilisks, and more! Your guide will also point out the vast variety of plant life that dominate this jungle. Marvel at the lush forest canopy and towering trees complete with jungle vines which you may even be able to swing on. Eventually, your trail will lead onto the beach where your nature hike will continue back towards the village. Enjoy the sights of the Caribbean sea and a coastline of jungle trees that stretch for miles in every direction. Finally arrive back at the village of Tortuguero where your adventure began and your Tortuguero Wildlife Tour will conclude.

Though there are both a morning and afternoon tours, we recommend the morning tours if you would like to see animals as they are most active at this time. On both tours, your experienced guides will do their best to spot animals but please note we must play by mother natures rules and seeing particular animals is no guarantee.

We ask that you please listen closely to your guides instructions and do not wonder off the trail.

Please be advised that Tortuguero is a coastal forest and rain is frequent in this area and this tour operates in rain or shine. A moderate fitness level is required.

Embark on your guided hike through the rainforests of Tortuguero National Park from your starting point at the village of Tortuguero. Head to the edge of the national park where you can pay the entrance fee to the park rangers. Once that is complete, the tour will begin along a trail known as Jaguar which explores into the jungle parallel with the coastline. During this hike you will make frequent stops along the way to view some of the many animals and abundance of plant life, which your guide will be sure to teach you about. Once the trail is complete, follow your guide back down the beach towards the village.
