Don’t miss our extremely popular Playas del Coco sunset cruise! A dreamlike relaxing cruise along the Guanacaste coastline taking in the stunning beauty and wildlife. Enjoy a morning or afternoon of superb hospitality and an opportunity to snorkel and swim in the warm waters of Playas del Coco. This is topped off with a delicious BBQ lunch prepared by your crew. If you embark in the afternoon, you’ll be able to watch the beautiful sunset upon your return journey back to Playas del Coco beach.

You will meet your crew on the beach in front of the El Anda Restaurant in the morning or afternoon for a quick briefing and boat transfer to the New Marlin– a huge custom made 65′ Sailing Catamaran complete with indoor compartments, bathrooms, and large sunbathing nets. Your crew will then set sail through the calm bays along Playas del Coco. If you’re lucky, you may even be able to spot dolphins, turtles, flying fish, or even whales who are occasional visitors to these shore. Bird lovers will not be disappointed as you will spot many of the sea birds that frequent Costa Rica. Be sure to take full advantage of the New Marlin’s open bar along the way.

Upon arriving at a secluded bay, the crew will drop anchor and lower the stairs so you can enjoy the calm coastal waters and swim or snorkel in the bay. You may even want to swim ashore and explore the deserted white sand beach. After some fun in the sun, your crew will serve a delicious meal of BBQ chicken, rice, a variety of fruit, chips, bean puree, pico de gallo, and even homemade chocolate chip cookies. There are also plenty of beverages available throughout the journey with an extensive open bar of wine, beer, liquor, and soft drinks.

Finally, your crew will hoist the anchor for their return journey back to Playas del Coco beach where your tour will conclude. If you join us on the afternoon tour, get your cameras ready as the spectacular sunset and a picture perfect moment.

This tour is weather dependent and some activities or the excursion may cancelled due to inclement weather. If the tour does cancel due to bad weather, then you will not be charged (there is no refunds if certain activities such as snorkeling is cancelled). Morning tours are also subject to a minimum number of fifteen people before it can operate  – if numbers are not met, then you will be put on stand by until we can confirm or offered an alternative time/date of departure.

Pick up and drop off from various hotels in Playas del Coco is also available for an additional fee. Please select the option upon booking if required.

Snorkeling equipment, life jackets and floaties are included on this tour.

Private tours for groups are available on request. Up to four catamarans are available for either small groups or large parties – please use the contact form or our contact page to request a quote. Private catamaran excursions can pick up groups from Playas Tamarindo, Coco, Potrero, Flamingo, Conchal, Hermosa, Andaz Beach and the Four Season, Playa Blanca, Virador.

Children under the age of 5 years old can join this tour for free provided they are accompanied with a paying adult.
