Embark on an adventure through one of the most beautiful regions of Costa Rica for a day of discovery and relaxation. From your accommodation in San Jose, travel north to visit the awe-inspiring Arenal Volcano in La Fortuna followed by a visit to the regions most popular natural hot springs which offers beautiful running springs and spectacular views!

You will be picked up at your accommodation in San Jose and the surrounding areas and then transported north through the rolling hills and farmlands to La Fortuna. Along the way, a stop will be made at the famous township of Sarchi, known in these parts as the birthplace of Costa Rica’s Artisans. Here you can enjoy beautiful gardens, colonial style buildings, souvenir shops, and of course the World’s Largest Oxcart positioned in the central park.

Continue north through the Costa Rican countryside until you reach the town of La Fortuna and the foothills of Arenal Volcano – Costa Rica’s most famous stratovolcano volcano! On a clear day, you will be able to marvel at the sheer size and beauty of Arenal which attracts tourists from all over the world. Another stop will be made at a typical Costa Rican restaurant for a delicious lunch which offers a a magnificent view of the volcano.

With lunch complete, it will be time to head to one of La Fortuna’s biggest attractions –  the natural hot springs of this region. We will take you to the very popular Tabacon Hot Springs which offers Arenal’s largest network of naturally following hot springs and incredible views of Arenal Volcano. These thermal waters have been well known by the locals of this area for their cleansing and rejuvenating effects. There are a total of five main springs which source highly mineralized water heated solely from the underground magma reservoirs of Arenal Volcano. You will find dozens of cascading waterfalls and thermal pools along the riverbed, of varying warm temperatures (72° to 105° fahrenheit/22° to 40° celcuis), water flows, and privacy.

After enjoying a relaxing dip in the hot springs, a wonderful dinner with a view of the volcano has been arranged for you before heading back to San Jose where your tour will conclude.

Spa services and massages are available at Tabacon Hot Springs but reservations must be made in advance. Please request this option when making the booking. These services are to be paid directly to Tabacon Hot Springs on the day of your excursion.

Pick ups are available from your hotel throughout San Jose and the greater area. If your accommodation falls outside of the pick up area, then we will arrange a pick up location where you can meet your driver/guide.

Child pricing is between the age of 3 to 11 years of age. For infants under the age of 2 years of age their is a charge of $18.00 USD. Private tours for groups are available on request – please use the contact form on our contact page to request a quote. Tour is subject to minimum numbers of 4 adult passengers – if numbers are not met, then you will be put on stand by until we can confirm or arrange an alternative date of departure.

Cancellations must be made a full 48 hours prior to the tour embarking, otherwise a penalty of 100% will be applied. Likewise there will also be a 100% penalty for no shows.
