A day of discovery, relaxation and adventure on this day tour in one of the most beautiful regions Costa Rica has to offer. From your accommodation in San Jose, travel through the Alajuela countryside to visit the awe-inspiring Arenal Volcano followed by a visit to the Baldi Hot Springs – well known as the most highly rated natural hot springs in this area!

You will be picked up at your accommodation in the Central Valley and then transported north through the Alajuela countryside to La Fortuna. Along the way, a stop will be made at the famous artisan township of Sarchi, regarded as the home of Costa Rica’s Artisans. Here you can enjoy the beautiful gardens, historic buildings, and souvenir shops this town has offer. You will also be able to view and take photos of the World’s Largest Oxcart during your stop.

Continuing north through the Costa Rican hills and valleys until you reach the town of La Fortuna, situated a short distance from Arenal Volcano – Costa Rica’s most well known and iconic volcano! If weather permits, you will be able to see the raw power and sheer size of Arenal Volcano which attracts tourists from across the globe. A stop will be made at the Arenal Viewpoint and lava fields, with its volcanic rock formation which were formed only a few decades ago. We’ll also make another stop at a cozy Costa Rican restaurant with an excellent view of the volcano.

Following lunch, your guide will  transport you to the Los Lagos Spa & Resort located at the very base of Arenal Volcano. Los Lagos offer a number of fantastic pools of varying temperatures. Unlike some of the other thermal pools in this area, Los Lagos offers both pools built specifically for either relaxation or fun and leisure – be it cooler traditional pools complete with waterslides or therapeutic springs with 40°C (104°F) waters. Spa services, massages and even a zipline are also available at this facility, which can be booked in advanced or on arrival if you so choose.

After enjoying the hot springs, an excellent dinner with a view of Arenal Volcano has been arranged before you and your group heads back to San Jose where your tour will conclude.

Spa services and massages are available at Los Lagos Spa & Resort but these are often booked out, so it is highly advised that all reservations are made in advance to avoid disapointment. Please request this option when making the booking. These services are to be paid directly to Baldi Hot Springs on the day of your or prior to your excursion.

Pick ups are available from your hotel throughout San Jose and the greater area. If your accommodation falls outside of the pick up area, then we will arrange a pick up location where you can meet your driver/guide.

Child pricing is between the age of 3 to 11 years of age. For infants under the age of 2 years of age their is a charge of $18.00 USD. Private tours for groups are available on request – please use the contact form on our contact page to request a quote. Tour is subject to minimum numbers of 4 adult passengers – if numbers are not met, then you will be put on stand by until we can confirm or arrange an alternative date of departure.

Cancellations must be made a full 48 hours prior to the tour embarking, otherwise a penalty of 100% will be applied. Likewise there will also be a 100% penalty for no shows.
