Join us on this 5-day tour of discovery as you travel through to some of the most famous and best kept secrets of Costa Rica which departs from San Jose daily. This tour package includes a visit to the awe inspiring Arenal Volcano with views from your room and a guided wildlife tour through a national park with an experienced guide, a coffee and chocolate tour in La Fortuna and a wildlife walking night tour, a travel through the beautiful Lake Arenal to Liberia with a guided tour of Rico de la Vieja. Finally return to San Jose with your guide which includes a entrance and a guided tour of Monteverde National Park, also known as the cloud forest, where your tour will conclude. Accommodation, transportation, and all listed activities are included.

Day 1: San Jose - La Fortuna - Arenal Volcano National Park

Picked up from your accomodation in San Jose, you will travel North through the beautiful countryside of Alajuela to La Fortuna: situated at the base of Costa Rica’s most impressive volcano, Volcan Arenal! Your hotel is situated with stunning views of the volcano on clear days. Once checked in, your guide will pick you up in the afternoon for a guided tour of Arenal Volcano National Park where you can sight monkeys, unique birdlife, and if you’re lucky the iconic sloth! Return to your hotel mid afternoon where you can spend the rest of your day at your leisure.

Day 2: La Fortuna

Spend a great day in La Fortuna with a guided tour of a Coffee & Chocolate Plantation. Here you will learn about some of Costa Rica’s best exports as you discover how the plants are processed into some of our favourite products. In the evening, you will join a night tour provided by a local guide which showcases our famous frogs, snakes, insects, and lizards. If you’re lucky, you might even see a Red Eyed Tree Frog or Blue Jeans Frog up-close.

Day 3: La Fortuna - Lake Arenal - Liberia

From your accommodation in La Fortuna, you’ll continue north to the Guanacaste’s capital, Liberia, via the beautiful Arenal Lake. See the beautiful countryside of San Carlos with the awe inspiring Arenal Volcano as your backdrop. Be dropped off at your Liberia accommodation mid afternoon and spend the rest of your day at your leisure.

Day 4: Liberia - Rincón de la Vieja

Today you will be picked up from your accommodation and transported via coach to Rincón de la Vieja Volcano National Park. Here you can embark on a guided 5 kilometer hike (3 miles) to one of Costa Rica’s most impressive waterfalls, the La Cangreja Waterfall, for a swim or just to admire the scenery. Enjoy a picnic lunch before being couriered back by your guide. If you’re lucky, you might just spot some more native animals which inhabit this area. The rest of your day to be spent at your leisure.

Day 5: Liberia - Monteverde Cloud Forest - San Jose

You’ll be picked up from your Liberia accommodation and transported back to San Jose via the incredible Monteverde Cloud Forest. Walk along the canopy tops on enormous hanging bridges as cloudy mist swirls around you. See an array of different animal species pointed out by your guide as you explore one of the most biodiverse forests in the world. Finally, head back to San Jose accommodation where your 5 day tour will conclude.
